Fine wire bent once into a heart and left open where the two ends nearly meet — and big with it: it starts at the lobe and finishes level with the jaw.

That much shape usually arrives with that much weight, and this does not: there is so little metal in it that the ear has stopped noticing by mid-morning. Sterling silver, polished, and mostly the air inside it. Large, and quiet.

FAQ

What is actually in the finish? Real 18K gold, in a micro-thin layer over brass or copper — thin by design, which is why a piece here costs $46 and not $460. We say gold-tone rather than gold plated because that is the honest word for a layer this fine.

Will it tarnish? A gold-tone finish wears with water, perfume and friction. Kept dry and stored apart from other pieces, it holds its shine for years. We have sold these pieces for ten years — the ones that did not last are not in this shop.

Is it hypoallergenic? The base is brass under a gold-tone finish. If you react to plated jewelry, our sterling silver 925 is the safer pick.
